MSA provided architectural services for a 24,000 square-foot development in Antioch, California, built using concrete tilt-up construction across a 5-acre site.
Tilt-up panels were cast on site and lifted into place with a crane, allowing the building shell to go up far faster than traditional steel or masonry methods would have allowed. This approach reduced both labor and transportation costs, since panels are formed right where they'll stand rather than fabricated off site and shipped in. With the shell enclosed sooner, interior trades were able to start earlier, helping accelerate the overall schedule and lower final building costs.
MSA's design and construction work on this project earned an award for excellence in design for concrete tilt-up construction, recognizing both the efficiency of the building method and the quality of its execution.
